Heavy Equipment Mechanic Role

Hanson is one of Australia's leading suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry. We produce aggregates, including crushed rock, sand, gravel and road base from a number of locations across Australia.

This role is for an experienced Maintenance/Diesel Fitter who will work on both fixed and mobile plant within the Glasshouse Mountains Quarry located on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Determining vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts
  • Keeping equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules
  • Fixed Plant Maintenance - from servicing to rebuilds
  • Attending vehicle breakdowns and conduct roadside repairs as necessary

This role is a great fit for someone who:

  • Is a Trade Qualified Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Vehicle
  • Has good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Can work as part of a team and unsupervised
  • Has the ability to recognise problems/issues, analyse, formulate and implement appropriate solutions
  • Possesses a strong process/task orientation
  • Has a current HR drivers licence (preferred)
  • Has previous quarry experience and/or a sound knowledge of Heavy Equipment & Crushing and Screening equipment
