Education Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Education Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting students who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging from mainstream schooling.
Our school actively engages young people by providing individualised adjustments and interventions to their learning program. You will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maximise learning outcomes for these students.
This is a part-time role based at our campus, working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 8am-4pm during term time only. As an Education Assistant, you will provide administrative support to teachers and the school administration team.
You will also assist with the delivery of vocational education and training (VET) programs and support students to gain employability and transferable skills.
- Administrative Support: Provide assistance to teachers and the school administration team with tasks such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining records.
- Vocational Education and Training: Assist with the delivery of VET programs, including preparing materials, setting up equipment, and supporting students.
- Student Support: Work with students to develop their employability and transferable skills, including communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, including students, teachers, and support staff.
- Previous experience in a similar role within youth support services and/or education sector.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to support students' learning needs.
The appointment of the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening, including criminal history and relevant working with children checks.
