Job Title:

Lead Geotechnical Engineer

Job Summary

A high-level geotechnical engineer is required to oversee the design, implementation and management of tailings storage facilities and water dams.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in civil/geotechnical engineering and experience in project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Civil/Geotechnical/Tailings dam design;
  • Geotechnical analyses using various software packages;
  • Understanding of tailing deposition modelling (Muk3D)
  • Geotechnical and environmental site characterisation;
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications;
  • Client Development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field.
  • Professional registration.
  • Engineer of Record (EoR).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software.
  • Knowledge of numerical modeling tools.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

This role requires the application of tasks listed below, as well as expanding knowledge of all elements and disciplines required to design these facilities.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and technical skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
