About This Role

Ensure the efficient and safe operation of training area range (TAR) sites by consulting with the Training Area Supervisor, managing daily task schedules, maintaining infrastructure, and coordinating tasks with associated Contractors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing minor corrective works to TAR infrastructure as required.
  • Operating vehicles for off-road driving in difficult terrain including winch operation and ancillary recovery equipment.
  • Coordinating contractor tasks applicable to TAR such as Land Management, Housekeeping, Cleaning, Resource Recovery and Waste Management, Estate Works and Estate Upkeep.
  • Conducting logistics reviews, surveys, and inspections, as determined by the TAS.
  • Briefing Defence users on TAR layout, reporting measures, and safety restrictions in accordance with local TASO.
  • Providing qualified training area operator services for all TARs requiring Range Live Fire Target Equipment.
  • Supporting RCO to ensure incidents and UXO are recorded accurately.
  • Assuming the role of Bushfire First Response Firefighter or Fire Ground Supervisor as required.
About You

We seek a candidate with:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant qualifications in logistics, safety management, or a related field.
  • Certification and training in vehicle recovery and winch operation.
  • Firefighting certification and training for Bushfire First Response and Fire Ground Supervision.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
