Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead our road safety initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve road safety in Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead research to identify international best practices for addressing illegal and unsafe driving behaviors.
  • Develop long-term strategies and plans to deter speeding and inattention in Tasmania.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, road safety advocates, and stakeholders to identify and propose evidence-based road safety policies and solutions.
  • Manage consultancy and contract services to meet project requirements.
  • Develop and deliver a communication strategy to promote acceptance of speed and distraction management approaches.
  • Provide specialist advice to support legislative review and prepare policy advice, instructions, and documentation.
  • Establish and foster productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop methodologies for collecting road safety data and establish road safety datasets.
  • Utilize sound project management methodologies to deliver outputs to expectation within agreed timeframes and resources.
  • Manage and provide guidance and leadership to assigned staff.
Requirements
  • Experience in project management and road safety.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of road safety policies and regulations.
