Synergy Engineer

As a seasoned synergy engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of business payments.

You will be responsible for owning our infrastructure, optimising our deployment pipelines, and elevating our development team's operational capabilities to new heights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain internal tooling and infrastructure automation using Bash and Terraform modules to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Optimise AWS infrastructure costs and performance by implementing best practices and leveraging cutting-edge technologies.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless deployment and reduce downtime.
  • Establish monitoring and alerting systems with a focus on alert optimisation and noise reduction to guarantee prompt issue resolution.
  • Manage containerised applications with Docker, including Docker-in-Docker setups and security permissioning to maintain robust application integrity.
  • Deploy and maintain database clusters with appropriate security hardening to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Investigate and implement AWS service improvements to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Train and mentor development teams on DevSecOps best practices and infrastructure concepts to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across microservices architecture and implement preventive solutions to prevent recurrence.
About You
  • Possess proficient experience in DevOps/infrastructure engineering with deep AWS expertise.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Terraform, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Showcase experience with CI/CD platforms at scale – Buildkite preferred; experience with Jenkins/GitLab CI/GitHub Actions valued.
  • Highlight experience with monitoring tools, alerting strategies, and production system management.
  • Showcase experience with containerisation, serverless architectures, database management, cloud networking, and AWS security services.
  • Demonstrate experience with database infrastructure and security hardening.
  • Exhibit a developer mindset: creative problem-solver who can script solutions when standard tools fall short.
