Job Title: Team Leader Public Relations and Media

About the Role:

This position involves leading a dynamic team in developing impactful public relations strategies to enhance the Council's reputation and community engagement.

  • Provide strategic leadership in public relations and media management to promote the Council's public image and brand awareness.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop and implement effective communication strategies, manage reputational risks, and provide crisis communication expertise.
Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Fostering community confidence through effective public relations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Developing and implementing strategic public relations plans that align with the Council's values and objectives.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders to ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in strategic public relations within a diverse organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills for diverse audiences.
