About the Opportunity

The Office for Early Childhood Development seeks a Senior Policy and Project Officer to contribute to the delivery of key initiatives supporting the roll-out of 3-year-old preschool.

This role will involve planning, coordinating, and delivering complex policy, project, and change management functions to achieve reform objectives and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy and Project Development: Develop and implement policies and projects aligned with OECD's reforms and South Australia's Early Childhood Workforce Strategy.
  • Advice and Support: Provide advice on best practice and evidence-based decision-making to inform policy and project initiatives.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Aboriginal families and communities.
  • Contract and Grants Management: Manage contract and grants processes, preparing specifications and participating in evaluation panels.
About You
  • You will bring experience in complex policy and program development, high-level communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
  • To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
    • Ability to identify and analyse complex problems and develop flexible solutions.
    • Demonstrated experience in analysing and evaluating sensitive policy issues.
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively at senior levels with stakeholders.
