About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the financial, procurement, pricing, and regulation programs at Melbourne Water. The CFO will report to the Executive General Manager Corporate Services and be accountable for delivering and executing financial and sourcing strategies. The role requires a future-focused leader to inspire a large team and foster a positive, customer-oriented culture that enables optimal commercial outcomes for the organisation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in finance and leadership, with experience in delivering transformational change. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate cross-functionally to maximise your impact and support the achievement of organisational objectives. You will also have a focus on ensuring strong risk and governance frameworks, complemented by your commercial acumen, strategic agility, and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial and sourcing strategies that align with the organisation's vision and mission

• Lead a large team of finance professionals and provide guidance on financial governance, compliance, and risk management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver commercial outcomes and drive business growth

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Executive General Manager Corporate Services, the Board of Directors, and external partners
