Job Title: Senior Secondary Engineer - Protection, Control and Automation

AusNet Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Secondary Engineer to join our team in the energy sector. As a key member of our Asset Management team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of protection, control, and automation.

As a Senior Secondary Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to our Asset Management team, managing and optimising our protection, control, and automation assets. This includes developing and implementing asset management strategies and equipment standards, initiating and managing projects, and delivering the implementation of asset management and asset replacement initiatives.

You will work closely with our Network Operations team to achieve annual capital and operations works plans, assessing and reviewing the condition and performance of protection, control, and automation assets, and investigating and analysing equipment failures.

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in Engineering with a solid technical background and experience in engineering and asset management. You will also need demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic asset management plans, preferably in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise to the Asset Management team
  • Develop and implement asset management strategies and equipment standards
  • Initiate and manage projects
  • Deliver the implementation of asset management and asset replacement initiatives

Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering with a solid technical background
  • Experience in engineering and asset management
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic asset management plans
  • Strong commitment to safety outcomes and best practices in engineering projects
  • In-depth knowledge of distribution system components, equipment, and technologies
  • Analytical skills for leveraging data-driven insights to optimise asset performance
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders
