Chemist

Viatris is seeking a skilled Chemist to join our team. As a Chemist, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing and investigations to ensure the quality and safety of our pharmaceutical products.

• Conduct routine laboratory testing and investigations of raw materials, in-process products, and finished dose products.
• Exercise scientific judgment and rationale to conduct analytical testing and investigations.
• Write simple laboratory investigations and reports.
• Ensure the application of sound scientific principles in laboratory work.
• Support and encourage continuous improvement initiatives for the benefit of the Quality department and the wider business.
• Ensure activities comply with GMP, legal, and ethical standards.
• Provide insight and apply creativity to challenging situations.
• Plan, monitor, and achieve goals within set time frames.
• Provide, build, and maintain consistent, reliable, and accurate customer service.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
• Communicate and endorse safety practices, monitor key safety performance indicators, and visibly participate in promoting safety policies and initiatives.

• Tertiary qualification in Science (with a minimum of 8 relevant chemistry units).
• Understanding of GMP requirements is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to comply with GxP.
• Can understand technical documents and can communicate description of problems and solutions.
• Ability to build rapport, establish, and maintain relationships with peers, business contacts, and corporate management.
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines and targets with competing and conflicting priorities.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and extensive technical knowledge and ability is essential in this role.
