Sales Clerk Job Description

As a Sales Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to customers in a retail setting. You will assist customers with product selection, answer questions about products, and resolve any issues that may arise.

You will also be responsible for maintaining the appearance of the store, including stocking shelves, arranging merchandise displays, and keeping the floor clean. Additionally, you will operate a cash register and process transactions accurately.

In this role, you will work closely with other sales clerks and management to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Potential to stock merchandise, assist patrons and operate a cash register which is shown by the ability to read, comprehend and explain product literature; as well as count, subtract, multiply, and divide for stocking and inventory purposes as evidenced by high school course work, a GED or high school diploma.
  • Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Other Essential Information
  • Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer as the Standard method of payment for payroll and travel purposes.
