About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in Busselton. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people who have experienced trauma and neglect.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support and guidance to our residents, helping them to develop independent life skills, manage emotional regulation, and engage in education and community activities. You will work closely with our care team to promote positive outcomes and ensure the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to support residents' goals and needs
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to residents, promoting positive relationships and behaviors
  • Assist residents with daily living tasks, such as cooking, housework, and laundry
  • Manage behavioral escalations and support residents to co-regulate emotionally
  • Communicate effectively with the care team and report incidents promptly and accurately
  • Administer medication (when required) and maintain accurate records
Requirements
  • Minimum qualification level - Certificate IV in Youth Work, Mental Health, or relevant qualification
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma and neglect, including the management of behaviors of concern
  • Ability to demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills with young people and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and strong understanding of professional boundaries
  • Experience working with young people from indigenous or other cultural backgrounds
  • Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) & CPR (HLTAID001 or HLTAID009) Certificate/s
  • Current Drivers Licence
