Public Health Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Public Health Physician to join a highly skilled and motivated health protection team in a rewarding role.

This position is ideally suited to a consultant with expertise in rural, Aboriginal and One Health focused work, and a passion for contributing to evidence-based public health medicine.

  • You will provide contemporary, comprehensive and professional specialist public health services that are safe, effective, evidence based, and patient centred.
  • You will deliver high quality health protection functions across communicable diseases, environmental health, immunisation, foodborne illness, and epidemiological advice to the community.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Liaison with agencies at local, state and federal government levels regarding communicable disease and environmental health issues.
  • Involvement in strategic planning and programme quality review for environmental health, immunisation and communicable diseases with a particular focus on conditions that are notifiable under NSW Public Health Act.
  • Development and implementation of systems to ensure data quality and equity in service provision, particularly for Aboriginal communities.
What We're Looking For:
  • Fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine and specialist registration with AHPRA.
  • Evidence of recent and comprehensive experience in Public Health Medicine.
