Job Title: Children'S Services Authorised Officer

The role of a Children's Services Authorised Officer is a vital one, requiring strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for promoting quality improvement in early childhood education and care services by assessing and rating these services against the National Quality Standard. Your extensive knowledge of the ECEC sector and regulation will serve you well in this dynamic and rewarding role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking assessment and rating visits to approved education and care services across regional and metropolitan areas;
  • Managing and reporting on approved education and care services' compliance with the National Quality Framework;
  • Supporting and undertaking investigations following notifications of incidents or complaints and preparing evidence to determine actions required based on nature of non-compliance;
  • Implementing quality assurance frameworks, systems and processes to ensure legislative and regulatory requirements are met;

This full-time, fixed-term VPS 4 position involves travel (usually by car) across relevant areas and occasional overnight stays. You will be expected to balance your time between visiting ECEC services, working offsite independently, and collaborating as part of a bigger inclusive team.

Our ideal candidate will possess strong planning and organising skills, including time management and flexibility. They will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to confidently engage with and advise stakeholders.

Desirable qualifications include relevant qualifications in early childhood education, teaching, or other human welfare studies. Essential qualifications include a valid Victorian Working with Children's Check and Victorian driver's licence.
