Salary: $97,000 - $101,000 per annum plus superannuation and salary packaging benefits.

Job Description:

We seek an experienced Family Violence Practitioner to join our 24/7 high-security refuge in the Whittlesea Council area. As a key member of our team, you will complete comprehensive intake, risk, and safety assessments, providing wrap-around case management to support women and children in various areas including income, housing, education, health, AOD, and the law. The role involves referrals to external services and resources as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver intake, complete risk assessment, and safety planning in line with the MARAM framework, providing support and information to women and children.
  • Commit to creating a safe environment for children and promoting their ongoing well-being.
  • Liaise and advocate for women and children in dealings with external agencies and organisations when necessary.
  • Develop a case plan in consultation with the woman and children, working effectively towards achieving goals within a set timeframe.
  • Provide family violence information sharing and children information sharing with external services as needed.
  • Participate in the on-call roster as required.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least three years' experience working in a Family Violence Program.
  • Understanding of family violence theoretical frameworks and interventions.
  • MARAM training.
  • A thorough understanding of child development and the issues faced by vulnerable children, young people, and families, including knowledge of the Children, Youth, and Families Act 2005.
