Geotechnical Support Role

This position involves providing assistance with geotechnical risk management and slope stability at a remote mining site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the collection and basic analysis of geotechnical data to inform operational planning.
  • Participate in site inspections and audits to identify and document geotechnical hazards.
  • Maintain and update visual risk communication tools to ensure effective safety awareness.
  • Contribute to rock sampling and testing programs under supervision, ensuring accurate results are obtained.
  • Back-analyze rockfalls and slope failures using site data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on geotechnical observations and findings.
  • Engage in regular safety training, toolbox talks, and ground awareness sessions with site teams to foster a culture of safety.
About You:
  • Enrolled in a relevant undergraduate degree (Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Geology).
  • Familiarity with relevant software and systems is desirable.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively across verbal, written, numerical, and graphical formats.
  • Able to work independently, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently to meet personal and team goals.
  • Possess a valid manual driver's license and be willing to live and work remotely in a rural setting.
