Role Overview
Limber is seeking experienced lawyers at the Lawyer or Senior Lawyer level to assist a high profile litigation team in a secondment position with a federal government department for an initial period of 6 months with the possibility of 2 further 6 month extensions.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates will work in the Department's litigation team, which is responsible for civil and personal injury claims, compensation claims, debt recovery actions, class actions, non-litigated claims, commercial matters and responding to court orders such as subpoenas.
The team also manages the Department's involvement in Coronial inquests, Comcare WHS actions, administrative law challenges and judicial review of decisions.
Requirements
Legal qualifications, a current practising certificate and a current minimum Baseline security clearance are essential.
Previous experience working in a federal government litigation team would be highly regarded.
The successful candidates must be willing to undergo further checks as required.
