Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bakery Team Member to join our team at Costco Wholesale. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining product knowledge, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt and courteous member service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.
  • Maintain current product knowledge of bakery items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and nutritional information.
  • Move product-filled oven racks, un-tray product from baking pans onto packaging, and garnish baked goods according to item requirements.
  • Scale finished product and record on weight verification sheets, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Packages and wraps baked goods by hand or using a wrapping machine, following merchandise manual guidelines.
  • Use racks or carts to move or stock wrapped product onto tables and pallets, maintaining date rotation and merchandising presentation throughout the day.
  • Assist with other bakery duties as needed, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and completing quality assurance and food safety tasks.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines for proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position.
  • Complete and comply with Costco policies of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all Safety training required by warehouse and department.
  • Assist with monthly inventory and other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a bakery or retail environment preferred.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
