Junior Financial Accountant

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to fill the position of Junior Financial Accountant. This role is essential in assisting the finance department with various accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in the creation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Perform account reconciliations and address discrepancies promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and financial adjustments.
  • Collaborate with different departments to collect financial data and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
  • Assist with compliance-related tasks.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving processes and efficiency within the finance team.
  • Provide assistance to senior accounting personnel as required.
  • Engage in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA qualification or progress towards it is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (SAP preferred).
  • Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations is advantageous.
