At One Doorway, we're dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and meeting individual outcomes for people with disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in providing person-centered care and support in the home and community.

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Supporting participants to meet their goals, particularly in alignment with their NDIS plan, focusing on safety, dignity, and client goals.
  • Providing in-home support with health requirements, personal care, and daily living tasks in alignment with participant needs and Care Team support requirements.
  • Assisting with the delivery of activities to enhance the development of capacity and skills across physical, social, emotional, and intellectual domains.
  • Working with a team of health professionals, family, friends, and carers to implement a program of support, including the implementation of Behaviour Support Plans and other Allied Health Plans.
  • Responding to crisis situations, including behaviours of concern as listed in the Behaviour Support Plan.

You'll work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized plans that promote independence, self-determination, and overall well-being.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A strong commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with participants, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience working with participants who have high needs and complex behaviour, with a focus on person-centered care and support.
  • A valid driver's license with access to a comprehensively insured vehicle, as travel may be required.
  • Current CPR Certificate and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance issued in Victoria.
