Nurse Care Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at VMCH. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and develop individualized care plans for residents, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide direct care to residents, including administering medications, wound care, and other nursing interventions.
- Supervise and mentor Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to ensure they are empowered to provide high-quality care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of care policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall care experience for residents.
Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, with relevant qualification and experience.
- Experience in aged care, with a strong understanding of Commonwealth, State, and Territory legislation and nursing practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues, with a strong focus on empathy and compassion.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently, with a high level of self-motivation and accountability.
- Proficiency in using information technology, including MS Office.
