Acute Pain Management Expert

Clinical Nurse Consultants play a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective care plans for patients experiencing acute pain. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, they foster an environment that values education, teaching, research, and quality activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advanced Nursing Care: Plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate advanced nursing care relating to acute pain management.
  • Education and Training: Foster an environment that encourages education, teaching, research, and quality activities in relation to acute pain management.
  • Clinical Consultancy: Provide clinical consultancy and advice on issues of acute pain management and serve as a clinical resource person.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Establish and monitor effective communication with other acute pain service team members and other health professionals.
  • Leadership and Innovation: Provide leadership in contemporary nursing practices and promote a professional, innovative, change-ready environment.
  • Expert Advice: Provide expert clinical advice and recommendations regarding the selection and utilization of resources.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Nursing Registration: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Specialized Qualification: Desirable: holds, or is working towards, a qualification relevant to the specialty area.
Work Environment

This part-time position involves working in a fast-paced acute pain management environment, requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Salary Package: Salary range $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (pro rata); 12% employer superannuation on top of base salary.
  • Post Graduate Allowance: Up to 10% based on qualification type.
  • Salary Packaging Options: Includes living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment per FBT year.
