The Military Provost Guard Service (MPGS) provides professional soldiers to meet armed security requirements at Royal Navy, Army, RAF and other MOD bases across the UK mainland.

  • Security incidents are managed by responsible personnel, addressing threats such as suspicious packages, bomb threats, protests, etc.
  • Site perimeters are patrolled regularly, ensuring necessary action is taken to preserve perimeter security.
  • Entry and exit are controlled, with efficient management of control room and gate operations for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Background: A minimum of three years prior Military Service or current service in any arm of the British Military, regular or reserves, is required.
  • Age: Candidates must be over 18 years old and under 57 years of age at re-enlistment.
  • Fitness Eligibility: Medical fitness and a Body Mass Index below 32 are essential.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence with less than eight penalty points is mandatory.
