Cleaner Job Description

We are currently seeking Cleaners to join us at our St George Hospital site, working full-time hours.

  • Cleaners provide services to all departments, wards and public areas within the hospital.
  • Safe handling of chemical and/or hazardous substances is required when performing cleaning duties.
  • Cleaners must identify and record any problems related to cleaning services and/or safety.
  • Surfaces must be decontaminated after initial clinical waste spillage has been removed by clinical staff.
  • The shift times for this position are Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm.

Requirements:

  • You must be able to work within a 24/7 rotating roster.
  • Evidence of immunization for certain diseases is required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a healthcare facility is highly desirable.
  • A valid Working with Children Card is mandatory.
  • A Police Check is also required.
  • Demonstrating a positive attitude and drive to deliver strong customer service is essential.
  • Genuine interest in working with and caring for people is necessary.
