Position Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Project Officer who will be instrumental in overseeing the environmental components of Land Management and Capability services under the Estate Management of Services (EMOS) contract. This role is crucial for supporting the Department of Defence in the SNSW/QLD Region.

As the primary contractor for Defence in this area, our organization provides essential services that encompass grounds upkeep, land preservation, and management of natural resources, along with pest control and expert consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formulation and execution of an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) within the Spotless Environmental Management System Framework, ensuring alignment with the Defence Environmental Management System (EMS) and Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) System.
  • Guarantee that all activities conducted by personnel and subcontractors comply with the Contract and site-specific Environmental Management Plans, including providing support for preparation and delivery to other sub-regions as necessary.
  • Develop and manage tender documentation for Environmental Works, including the tendering process, evaluation, and engagement as required.
  • Ensure effective management of Land Management services while adhering to established budgetary constraints.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline (Mandatory).
  • Eligibility for Defence security clearance (Australian Citizenship Required).
  • Practical environmental experience in a comparable setting.
  • Familiarity with or experience in the Defence sector (Preferred).
  • Engagement with relevant Environmental panels or committees to enhance industry networking and facilitate technical collaboration (Preferred).
