Senior Environmental Scientist

Tetra Tech Coffey is a leading provider of engineering and environmental consulting services in Australia and New Zealand. We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Environmental Scientist to join our specialist Site Assessment and Remediation Group.
This critical role will see you working directly with our leaders to deliver a wide variety of site investigation projects in the Defence, infrastructure, mining and resources, property and oil and gas sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Planning, directing, and providing technical leadership for the delivery of large, contaminated land projects
- Coaching and providing technical development for the team
- Building key client relationships and working with our Practice Leader and Principals to identify and pursue new growth opportunities
- Managing and preparing technical content in reports, proposals, and correspondence
- Engaging with a range of Western Australian government departments and regulators
- Collaborating with our contaminated land project managers and specialists across Australia for technical input on major projects
We welcome candidates with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology and/or Hydrogeology
- 10+ years' experience delivering contaminated land projects, preferably within Western Australian
- Exceptional communication, report writing, and project management skills
- The ability to coach and provide technical guidance for junior staff
- Significant experience in ensuring projects are delivered safely and without risks to health or environment
- Well-developed understanding of Western Australian legislation and Standards and guidelines for contaminated land
- An existing client network as well as relationships with government departments and regulators will be highly regarded
