The Tasmanian Government's Department of Health invites applications for a Medical Scientist position within the Molecular Medicine Laboratory at Launceston General Hospital.

As a key member of the laboratory team, you will be responsible for contributing to the provision of effective pathology services in Haematology and performing professional work in one or more sections of the Pathology Department.

You will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team engaged in the molecular diagnosis of acquired, inherited and infectious diseases.

This is a permanent, part-time position working 64 hours per fortnight. The successful applicant will be required to participate in the out-of-hours call-back service roster.

To be eligible, you must hold a tertiary qualification/program of study in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Science or Applied Science or equivalent suitable to the position from a recognised institution.

You must also be eligible for membership with a relevant professional body such as Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists.
