As an Estimator for our Solar Australia office, you will lead small to medium estimates, conduct detailed analysis of contract documents, and ensure completion of full quantity take-offs.

About This Role
  • Lead small to medium estimates or components of large estimates and review all associated bid documents.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine and validate overall project requirements.
  • Ensure the completion of full quantity take-offs of all labor, equipment, and materials from project documents.
  • Support the estimate lead by populating tender forms, generating requests for information, anticipating proposal requirements, and assisting to establish a pursuit schedule.

The successful candidate will recognize risks related to project-specific requirements, site, schedule, and market conditions/constraints. They will use contract terms to identify risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Bid document control by documenting, organizing, and archiving all information relating to the estimate for successful transfer to the project team.
  • Perform bid-day assignments and support other estimators to successfully close various scopes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including subtrade partners and suppliers.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
  • 4 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, and 6 months of on-site experience is preferred.
  • General construction knowledge; understands specifications, drawings, materials, and methods and procedures.
