Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Deckhand to join our team on a 45m private superyacht based in Sydney.

The yacht operates a diverse program, spending time in summer in both Sydney and Pittwater. Over Winter, it will venture further afield, traveling to the Great Barrier Reef or the islands around the Pacific (Fiji or Tahiti).

The successful candidate must be clean-cut and presentable at all times, with a positive attitude and a willingness to listen and learn.

  • Possess Power boat level 2 / Coxswain certification or higher
  • Hold STCW 95, ENG 1, or AMSA Medical qualifications
  • Have tender driving experience, preferably with jet boats and jet skis
  • Be familiar with bridge watch procedures and docking/lines knowledge
  • Show a genuine love for water sports, fishing, and the ocean

This is an excellent opportunity to advance your deck career and training, gaining valuable experience that will propel you into a senior deck or bosun position.

The ideal candidate should have full work rights for Australia and the ability to live ashore in Sydney when not cruising.

We prefer candidates located close to Sydney for interviews to ensure a smooth transition into our crew dynamic.

Responsibilities

The Deckhand will be responsible for:

  • Performing deckhand duties including tender driving and crane operations
  • Mentoring and training in more senior responsibilities including bridge watches, anchoring, navigation, seamanship, and big boat handling
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold full work rights for Australia
  • Be able to live ashore in Sydney when not cruising
  • Demonstrate longevity in previous positions
