Our client stands as a prominent manufacturer of gelatine and collagen peptides, employing over 2,800 individuals across 22 locations worldwide.

Situated in a picturesque region, the facility employs 87 staff members and produces 4,000 tonnes of edible gelatine annually. Approximately 60% of this production caters to the confectionery sector, while the remainder is utilized in jelly crystals and dairy products.

They are currently in search of a proficient Fitter to enhance their maintenance team, which consists of 10 skilled professionals.

The role encompasses a variety of tasks, potentially including outdoor work on the farm or near water bodies, focusing on pump maintenance and other equipment. The site features a gas boiler, necessitating some work in elevated temperature areas. A significant shutdown occurs annually for two weeks, aligning with abattoir closures, during which maintenance on empty tanks and repairs on shafts will be conducted.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance
  • Perform breakdown repairs
  • Install new machinery
  • Maintain records for spare parts identification
  • Propose enhancements

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in machining and lathe operations
  • Proficiency in pump and valve repairs and replacements
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems
  • Advanced welding capabilities with MIG and TIG processes

Experience in food-grade welding and familiarity with boilers and steam distribution systems will be regarded as highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

It is essential to have a Q Fever vaccination or be willing to obtain one.
