Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a skilled Waste Collection Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting waste from residential areas.

  • Operate SideArm or Rear Loader truck for kerbside collection
  • Follow scheduled routes and complete timely collections
  • Support colleagues as needed
  • Maintain high safety standards including personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazard reporting
  • Communicate effectively with depot and operations teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance
  • Adhere to traffic laws and safe driving practices
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of waste management procedures

Requirements:

  • Valid Heavy Rigid Truck Licence
  • 6-12 months experience driving heavy rigid trucks (waste industry preferred)
  • Reliable transportation to and from the depot
  • Physically fit: able to climb in/out of trucks and lift up to 30 kg
  • Strong awareness of safety protocols and procedures
  • Able to pass drug and alcohol testing and police checks
  • RMS driving history report required
