Skillful and experienced masons are sought after to join our organization.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting building plans and work orders.
- Erecting and dismantling scaffolding while adhering to safety protocols.
- Constructing structures using a variety of materials including bricks, blocks, tiles, boards, and stone.
Masonry duties and responsibilities also entail:
- Laying bricks in rows, designs, and shapes.
- Spreading mortar between joints.
- Embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar.
- Strengthening and sealing foundations with the appropriate material.
- Fastening bricks with wire clamps or cement.
- Repairing building blocks.
- Managing material quantities effectively.
- Utilizing tools such as hand tools, brick-cutting machines, spirit levels, and plumb lines to check building alignment.
- Working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights.
- Employing equipment and tools efficiently to perform basic construction tasks.
- Maintaining accurate records/documentation associated with the work undertaken.
- Ensuring compliance with agreed codes, legislation, and procedures, including health and safety standards.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Certificate III/IV in Bricklaying or equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
This position offers a salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 per annum.
