Job Opportunity: Educator for a Child with Special Needs
This position involves working with a family of seven in Sydney, Australia. The educator will be responsible for providing care and education to a 4-year-old child who is immunosuppressed and undergoing treatment.
The ideal candidate should have experience in early childhood education and care, and be able to assist the child in developing their fine motor skills, language, and speech.
The educator will also help the child prepare for school, focusing on developmentally appropriate activities that foster and expand upon developmental milestones. The child enjoys activities such as dolls, crafts, painting, playing with slime, and music.
The expected commitment period is at least 12 months, with working hours exceeding 30 hours per week. The employer will process tax and super payments on behalf of the employee.
The required qualifications include a Certificate/Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care or a Bachelor teaching degree (early years or primary) and registration with the relevant state's teaching authority board.
The perfect caregiver should be mature-minded, experienced in childcare, and willing to commit to the family's needs. They should also have certifications such as WWCC, Police Check, CPR, and Level 2 First Aid, as well as a car and driver's license.
