Head Vet Nurse Position

A highly skilled and dedicated individual is required to fill this key role in our veterinary team. The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians with routine exams and procedures, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.
  • Provide surgical and hospital nursing care, including anaesthetic monitoring, to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all animals.
  • Deliver pre- and post-operative patient care, and offer support and guidance to clients during challenging times.
  • Administer medications and prepare treatments, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Manage admission and discharge processes for surgical and hospital patients, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to our services.
  • Communicate treatment plans and updates to clients, providing clear and concise information to promote informed decision-making.
  • Perform blood collection, testing, and IV catheter placement, utilizing accurate techniques and instruments to achieve optimal results.
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging (x-rays and ultrasounds), utilizing equipment and software to capture high-quality images and support diagnosis.
  • Support dental care, including scale and polish, and perform dental x-rays, maintaining the oral health and wellbeing of our patients.
  • Contribute to daily nursing tasks to support vets and team members in providing high-standard patient care, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Mentor and train Vet Nurses within the team, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance the skills and confidence of colleagues.
About Us

Our practice comprises 11 Vets, 13 Nurses, and 2 Full-Time receptionists, working together to deliver exceptional customer service and veterinary care. Our standard working hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm and Saturdays 8am-1pm.
