We are seeking an experienced and skilled Endoscopy Assistant to join our team.

As an Endoscopy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient care of patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. This includes assisting registered nurses and other healthcare professionals in the reprocessing of endoscopes and instruments, maintaining accurate records, and upholding national safety and quality standards.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent infection control skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities. You will also need to work collaboratively with the team to maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to all relevant protocols and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reprocess endoscopes/instruments to infection-control standards and maintain accurate records
  • Support patient flow: admission checks, observations within scope, safe discharge readiness
  • Uphold NSQHS and SCH Safe Care Framework; escalate concerns and contribute to quality improvement
  • Work safely: manual handling, PPE and 'bare below the elbows'; collaborate effectively within the team
