Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Pulp Mill Operations Specialist to join our team in Tumut. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment within our pulp mill.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-process inspections and checks using the Distributed Control System (DCS), as well as performing physical in-field inspections. You will also identify and analyze process control maintenance requirements and generate work orders through the DCS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and checks of plant and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Identify and analyze maintenance requirements and generate work orders through the DCS
  • Collaborate with the operations team to develop and implement continuous improvement plans and programs
  • Develop short- and medium-term plans to optimize paper production and improve competitiveness in the market

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A qualification in a relevant field such as Pulp Making, Power Plant Operations, or Electrical Engineering
  • Significant experience in a pulp mill or similar high-risk plant environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A safety-first mindset and commitment to OHS&E policies and procedures
