Research Associate Opportunity

The University of Sydney's School of Physics is seeking a Research Associate to join the Dynamics and Neural Systems Group. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the development of novel methods for analyzing complex physical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new understanding of non-stationary complex systems through theoretical analysis and numerical simulation.
  • Design and implement efficient statistical algorithms for inferring dynamical models from multivariate time-series data.
  • Collaborate with PhD and Honours students on projects related to sleep dynamics and large-scale recordings.
Requirements
  • PhD in physics, mathematics, or computer science.
  • Experience in simulating and analyzing multivariate time-series data.
  • Proficiency in developing and working with open scientific software.
  • Interest in using statistical learning to infer dynamical models from data.
