We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team at Rapid7. As a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a critical role in investigating and responding to security incidents, utilizing advanced tools and threat intelligence to identify and mitigate potential threats.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth investigations into security incidents, utilizing Rapid7's world-class software and threat intelligence to identify potential compromises in customer environments.
- Collaborate with our Incident Response team to provide analysis assistance and support during incident response engagements.
- Write detailed incident reports, following the MITRE ATT&CK Framework, and providing forensic, malware, and root-cause analysis.
- Communicate with customers regarding investigation findings, requests for information, and remediation and mitigation recommendations.
- Share new intelligence with the team regarding tactics, techniques, and trends utilized by threat actors.
- Provide input to Rapid7's Threat Intelligence and Detection Engineering team regarding new detection opportunities.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a cybersecurity-related position, with a strong background in SOC and/or SIEM analysis.
- Deep understanding of core operating system concepts in Windows, MacOS/Darwin, and Linux.
- Strong understanding of investigative methodology and the incident response lifecycle, including the cyber killchain.
- Practical experience gained through CTF and HTB challenges, as well as personal or professional usage of common penetration testing tools.
- Experience with hands-on analysis of forensic artifacts and/or malware samples.
- Passion for cybersecurity and continuous learning and growth.
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and ingenuity.
- Effective communication skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration within the SOC and between departments.
- Dedication to putting each customer's needs and concerns at the forefront of all decision-making.
