Research Fellow in Bioinformatics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow in Bioinformatics to join our team at the University of Western Australia. As a key member of our research group, you will contribute to the preparation of research and review papers in the field of applied bioinformatics, undertake applied bioinformatics research, and support the continued success of our applied bioinformatics group.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct applied bioinformatics research and contribute to the preparation of research and review papers in the field of applied bioinformatics.
- Undertake supervision of other research team members involved in projects and contribute to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate level courses or units.
- Develop and maintain expertise in a range of computing skills, including Linux and specialist bioinformatics software.
- Collaborate with researchers and academics to advance the field of bioinformatics and contribute to the development of new research initiatives.
- PhD in applied bioinformatics or a relevant combination of experience and education or training.
- Experience in genome analysis, preferably with plant genomes.
- Extensive experience in writing scientific manuscripts and reports.
- Proficiency in a range of computing skills, including Linux and specialist bioinformatics software.
- Knowledge and experience of pangenomics or machine learning applications is desirable.
