Strategic Board Support Specialist

This role plays a crucial part in the State Government Department, providing top-notch support to the Company Secretary, Executive Leadership Group and Board.

The primary contact point for high-level executives and board committee members, this individual will ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

  • Full-time hours with a flexible schedule (3 days on-site and 2 days working from home)
  • The role is available immediately
  • Labour hire initially, with the option to apply for permanent placement in February 2025
Key Responsibilities:

Board Paper Preparation and Logistics:

  • Coordinate Board meeting preparations, ensuring timely and efficient execution

Committee Paper Preparation and Logistics:

  • Manage Committee meeting preparations, prioritizing organization and attention to detail

Ethics and Confidentiality:

  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, upholding confidentiality and discretion at all times

Liaison and Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Board paper authors, Board members, and the Company Secretariat
  • Provide proactive support to the Company Secretary in managing Board Committee and Board meeting materials
  • Facilitate strong relationships with Board members, acting as the primary contact for company secretariat

Administrative Support:

  • Offer administrative assistance to the Company Secretary in managing key departmental processes (budgeting, planning, etc.)
  • Promote Health and Safety among colleagues through hazard identification and active participation in improvement initiatives
Requirements:

To excel in this position, you must possess:

  • Experience with Diligent Board Paper portal or similar application (desirable)
  • Ability to undergo a National Police Check
  • Strong organizational/time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Significant experience building relationships, influencing, and negotiating across various levels of an organization
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of attention to detail
