YE OLDE CAFE MOONTA BAY is a leading hospitality business in South Australia, renowned for its authentic Indian cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. We are seeking an experienced Executive Indian Cuisine Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent culinary skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes
  • Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs
  • Ensuring fresh ingredients are used in cooking
  • Operating kitchen equipment, including ovens and grills
  • Cooking a range of Asian dishes with precision and flair
  • Tasting food and applying seasoning to achieve the perfect flavour
  • Plating food attractively and adding garnishes to enhance presentation
  • Storing food safely to maintain quality and prevent cross-contamination
  • Preparing ingredients and cutting food to required sizes
  • Providing exceptional customer service and meeting individual needs
  • Complying with food hygiene regulations and maintaining a clean kitchen environment
  • Training fellow staff and new kitchen staff members

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

· AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

· At least 3 years of experience in Indian cuisine

· A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills

· Ability to follow directions and ask questions when needed

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Capacity to multitask and handle stress in a fast-paced environment

· Willingness to work beyond regular hours when required

The annual salary for this position is AUD 70,000 - 80,000, offering a competitive remuneration package for a skilled Executive Indian Cuisine Chef. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further discussion.
