The Role

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Category Specialist to join our Strategic Procurement team based at Rydalmere. Your role will be to support the Operations and Supply Chain teams with tendering materials and services and capital equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse assigned procurement categories to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Research the supply market to identify potential suppliers and negotiate supply terms.
  • Support other members of the Strategic Procurement team on major projects, including developing tendering materials and managing vendor relationships.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop a strategy for each category, including identifying and prioritizing opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Negotiate supply and support stakeholders in managing purchases and vendors.
  • Source and negotiate supply terms for capital expenditure purchases.
  • Identify and deliver agreed target savings each year across the assigned category/vendor portfolio over a 3-year cycle and capital purchases.
  • Work closely with Rheem Australia, New Zealand, and Vietnam, and liaise with Rheem Global Procurement on common category procurement projects and capital purchases.
  • Leverage global Procurement Commodity projects where appropriate to achieve savings targets on global commodities.
Requirements
  • A Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar.
  • Experience in a purchasing and/or procurement position, in a manufacturing, engineering, or logistics environment.
  • An analytical mind with a strong attention to detail.
  • A strong desire for a long-term career in Procurement.
Desirable Skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and engage with various stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with critical thinking.
  • High level of self-motivation, time management, and organisational ability.
  • SAP experience, strong Excel skills, and skills in other Microsoft 365 suite products.
