Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Motor Underwriting Lead to join our team at Vero Insurance.

This is a key role that will be responsible for ensuring the quality and profitability of commercial motor business. The successful candidate will have strong underwriting skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.

About the Role

The Commercial Motor Underwriting Lead will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all commercial motor policies are underwritten in accordance with our company's guidelines and risk appetite;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key intermediaries and brokers;
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to underwriters on complex commercial motor risks;
  • Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as renewal and new business growth, gross written premium (GWP), and insurance trading result (ITR).
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial insurance, preferably in underwriting or a related field;
  • Strong knowledge of commercial motor insurance products, including liability, fleet, and specialty lines;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, intermediaries, and clients;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
