About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at WSP Global Inc. as a Design Expert. In this role, you will work closely with our WA Building Services Team in our Property & Buildings Group, providing mechanical design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver best practice and outcomes for clients, saving on costs and time
  • Take lead on small to medium size engineering design projects and support larger projects
  • Communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders and project teams
  • Be a supporting figure and mentor for lesser experienced engineers
  • Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities
  • Represent and promote the business with the local and regional markets
Requirements
  • Hold a recognized Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrate expertise in designing mechanical services systems (air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems)
  • Have the ability to coordinate and understand relevant building services disciplines, including Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Environmentally Sustainable Design
  • Proven project experience in the building services sector across Infrastructure, Property & Buildings, Defence, Healthcare, Educational, and/or Mission Critical facilities
  • Possess a working knowledge of Australian building codes and standards, local WA experience an advantage
  • Ensure registration (or eligibility for registration) in the professional engineer register of the relevant state for the building/construction industry
  • Demonstrate a history of effectively managing competing priorities, prioritizing work, and meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Capable project and people leader - train, and mentor junior engineers, coupled with effective communication skills at all levels
