The School of Private and Commercial Law is renowned for its world-leading experts in commercial law. In teaching, research, and policy-oriented work, we engage critically with local and international laws, exploring contracts, business transactions, property dealings, corporate conduct, financial institutions, trade organisations, harm prevention, and dispute resolution.
We combine intellectual rigour with innovative techniques to nurture and challenge our students, helping them develop a detailed understanding of core legal doctrines and transferable critical skills for legal practice and other commercial environments.
We are deeply engaged with the law in practice and committed to forging new connections with the legal profession, government agencies, and the business sector.
About the Role
Our academics teach across various programs, but our students are also exposed to diverse teaching methods from our casual Teaching Fellows, including leading judges, legal practitioners, and policy officers. These Fellows are vital to our teaching delivery at UNSW Law & Justice.
We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals for casual teaching opportunities in 2025 courses.
Participatory teaching methods and inculcating an appreciation of the connection between law and justice are key areas of focus for us.
About You
You will need:
- A Master's or PhD degree in law or a relevant field; or
- A Bachelor's degree in law or a relevant field, plus at least 2 years of professional and/or educational experience demonstrating advanced legal knowledge, independent learning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Teaching vacancies vary by term, depending on staff availability, course offerings, and student enrolments. Employment is offered on a term-by-term basis. Details such as duties, employment duration, and pay rates will be confirmed with successful applicants before commencing duty.
Candidates should be aware that offers of employment are made in accordance with the UNSW (Academic Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2018.
Salary: $80-$120 per hour
