Senior Java Developer

Paxus - Technology + Digital Talent is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join their Canberra team.

This is a 12-month contract with the option to extend for a further 2 years. The role is open to Australian citizens who can obtain a Baseline clearance.

The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for the development of software and technical design, working closely with the development team to create ICT solutions.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Undertaking analysis, design, development, prototyping, testing, and maintenance activities
  • Providing support to development teams to create ICT solutions
  • Performing analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation with proposed solutions
  • Defining software and technical designs for the realization of high complexity custom solutions or conversion and migration solutions
  • Ensuring excellent quality and maintaining high standards in software development
  • Providing go-live support and maintenance for developments
  • Escalating issues as identified and suggesting alternative approaches
  • Proposing and facilitating innovative solutions to meet enterprise and user requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with endorsed software development methodologies
  • Providing comprehensive technical support to senior staff
  • Developing staff capability through coaching and training
  • Monitoring workloads to ensure business goals are achieved
  • Ensuring work aligns with processes and overall delivery outcomes
  • Developing documentation for review by senior staff, including technical documentation and progress reports
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective and timely implementation of projects
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of ICT policies and processes and transferring knowledge to other team members

Paxus - Technology + Digital Talent offers a hybrid work arrangement, with 3 days spent in the office and 2 days working from home. The company also pays weekly.
