About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Lead, Safety and Quality to join our team at the Women's and Children's Health Network. As a key member of our Safety and Quality team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of excellent, evidence-based care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in ensuring that our culture, clinical systems, and practices align with and facilitate the delivery of excellent, evidence-based care.
  • Contribute to the Network's Safety and Quality performance and manage patient safety systems alongside other members of the Safety and Quality team.
  • Draw on your clinical competencies and work closely with the Executive Director of Medical Services and other Executive Team members to optimize clinical governance, quality, and safety across the Network.
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders across the WCHN to promote a safe, high-quality, continuous improvement culture.
  • Work strategically and collaboratively with senior leadership to understand their business and develop a detailed clinical approach addressing the needs of consumers, stakeholders, and communities for various safety and quality initiatives and processes.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and an ability to motivate and inspire others to work together as a team to achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and leadership skills that foster credibility, trust and co-operation at senior levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, develop innovative solutions, and negotiate successful outcomes in a resourceful manner.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public health system operations, particularly as they related to acute and primary health care services across the continuum of care.
