Leadership Role in Neurogenetics

The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network seeks an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead nurse-led initiatives, empower families through education and support, influence service development in a rapidly evolving field, and advance care models for vulnerable patients.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Neurofibromatosis. You will work collaboratively with world-leading clinicians and allied health professionals to coordinate care, streamline access to specialist multidisciplinary care, and provide education and advocacy throughout the patient's journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an appropriate and effective role model to promote culture and standards that reflect NSW Health CORE values.
  • Provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.
  • Exercise extended autonomy of decision making while working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.
  • Undertake leadership in the development of nursing specialty clinical practice service delivery in the ward/service, or undertake primary case management within a defined specialty involving both inpatient and community-based services.

Requirements:

  • A current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the relevant clinical area of their post-registration qualification.
  • Demonstrated evidence of advanced clinical practice in the specialty area.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities.
