We are seeking a reliable and physically capable individual to join our team as a Seasonal Casual Forklift Driver & Parcel Sorter. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient processing and delivery of mail and parcels across Australia.
Key Responsibilities- Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to load and unload mail from mail bags, trays, containers, and metal cages (Unit Loading Devices).
- Parcel Sorting: Sort parcels and mail manually or using machine-assisted scanners, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
- Equipment Operation: Work across sophisticated processing equipment and lines, operating load shifting equipment such as hand pallet devices and stackers.
- Shift Operations: Work day or night shifts (8am - 3.51pm or 11pm - 6.51pm or 2am - 9.51am) to meet the demands of our peak period.
- Availability: Be available to work from October through our peak period.
- Licence: Hold a valid LF Forklift License.
- Physical Demands: Enjoy a physical role, able to lift up to 16kgs of mail and parcels regularly, with a great memory and attention to detail.
- Safety: Be safety-conscious and able to safely operate equipment such as conveyors, loading/lifting devices, including pallet jacks to load and unload parcels from trucks and vans.
- Compliance: Enjoy a fast-paced environment where compliance checks are required.
- Product Handling: Be comfortable handling parcels that may contain meat and/or alcohol products.
- Regular Shifts: Be allocated a regular shift time, working with a great bunch of people.
- Higher Rate of Pay: A higher rate of pay may apply for applicable shift times (penalty rates).
- Superannuation: Benefit from a 12% superannuation rate.
- Ongoing Opportunities: We may have opportunities for ongoing work beyond the peak season.
